Best Retirement Cities In Florida

So what are the best retirement cities in Florida. I guess that the best Florida retirement cities would be determined by what suits each and everyone of us. After all our needs change but, normally our expendable income just gets smaller.

I live in Auburndale Florida and yes I am over 55 years old. Not retired but definitely not about to sign up for any college courses. What attracts me to Lakeland, Auburndale and Winter Haven is how nice of a home you can get at a reasonable price. The VA has a medical facility in Lakeland and the hospitals in Lakeland and Winter Haven FL are both excellent in my book. I do not need them yet but someday I may and I have trust in them because some of my associates have used them.

When most people my age think of what the best Florida cities for retirement are the immediately think of The Villages. That is probably the largest retirement community/city in America. I just don't have an interest in seeing people my age everywhere I look, atleast not just yet.

Lakeland has a great mix of people all ages. Not to mention plenty of sports and of course golfing communities. I can think of atleast a handful of 55 Plus golfing communities right off of the top of my head. If golf is your thing you should lean toward Lakeland.

Auburndale is the best of both worlds. Very affordable and a short drive to either Lakeland or Winter Haven FL. I usually drive to one of those two towns when my wife and I go out to eat. Auburndale is just a little behind in the restaurant area. However Auburndale is leading the way for affordable lakefront homes. I live on a lake and at a great price compared to many cities here in Central Florida.

Winter Haven is a great choice and has more 55+ residents than most people think. Many of them are like me and live in their own homes still. However when you go to eat or shop there you notice their presence. That is a good thing because the 55+ crowd is not tolerant of poor service in restaurants or hospitals. If you see older residents dining in a nice restaurant you can rest assured the service and food are fairly good. If you are interested in finding a home, or researching homes in these areas reach out to us. We would love to show you the area and why Lakeland, Auburndale and Winter Haven Fl are likely the best retirement cities in FL.
